Can anyone tell me if Supercarry callipers are the same as Rascal?
My vehicle is an original 1990 Vauxhall Rascal "Sportsman" campervan built from new by Victoria Motors in Wakefield, Yorkshire. I had restored the whole thing from what was basically a heap of very rusty scrap but after the initial run out it got side-lined again and has now been laid up for few years. I recently decided to recomission it again and properly sort the brakes out which were okay but never 100 percent. I did refurb the original Tokico callipers when I did the last work and fitted new rubbers etc. I bought a lot of parts from Del Boy at the time but not sure if he's still doing it.
The reason for my original question is that I would like to completely replace the callipers if I can find some at a reasonable price. Any help appreciated

The Rascal van & 3 Bambi's i have had never had trhe best brakes in the world but i was told tyou could get brake linings called "green stuff" that were more abrasive and help the brakes to work a lot better, but the downside was you wore outdiscs quicker.

I must admit when i cleaned my brakes including
Stripping the callipers rinsing out all the white gungy stuff..Flushed all the pipes..Replaced with new discs new pads etc..I could lift the back wheels off the floor ..The brakes were Awesome...

When my Rascal van was loaded with my work stuff or with the habitation unit on the back of what is essentially a rascal pick up...they took some stopping.

Dont think they would have been that good from New !  Angry

The brakes are very good when every part is working correctly.

Rascal as a motorhome = terrible brakes and lots of planning ahead.

Rascal as a pickup truck = awesome brakes and brilliant handling.
