Although its not on a Rascal, i know there a lot of Knowledge out there, so i thought i'd ask anyway !

I am fitting a pair of 55w Spot / Fog / Driving Lamps to the 1.3 carry pick-up and i remember on an old Ford Escort, when fitting spot lamps I added a relay that when triggered by a switch send power to the lamps via a more heaver duty cable.

I plan to tap into the low beam headlamp wire to power the new lamps, via another on/off switch, but on more modern vehicles (2003 as apposed to the 70s for the escort) is a relay still needed ?

The wire's on the lamps are only about 1.2mm

Any thoughts / Advice ?

Relay`s are so cheap nowadays you might as well wire one in.
