Hi Since going through some deep water my van is running fast on tickover.  If you blip the throttle is goes back down sometimes, but if you hold it down and release slowly then the revs stay at about 1500 rpm.  I hve checked the throttle cable and it is not sticking, so I wondering if it is electrical? Derek?

The van is a 1989 1.0.  any views?

If when you lift the pedal right up it slows down oil the pedal mechanism, then the throttle linkage on the carb, If this does not work oil the cable & make sure the choke is fully opening. Oil that as well. It cannot be electrical.

Sorted Smiley I pumped the throttle by hand about 5 times, pumped the choke linkage about 5 times and then pumped the vacuum about 5 times. Now perfect, thanks Derek.  Cool

Did you test the injector on the cylinder to make sure its firing? If the injector is clogged or not working, that could be the cause of you running on one less cylinder.
