just put a new head gasket on my bomber rascal and fired it up before re fitting all the gear stick panel etc in
and noticed the cam was running dry.
could I of fitted the gasket the wrong way round blocking an oil way?
or is it more suspisious?

only did the gasket as the valve stem seals went hard.

Does sound like you have fitted the gasket upside down. Did you push wire through the oil way in the head & the block to make sure it was clean & clear.

All fixed now ...
I did clean the oil way, but neglected to check if I put the gasket on the right way, cheap gasket wasn't "fool proof stamped".
New quality gasket from Tim and she's running the best and quietest she ever has... (new tappet tool)...

Dell, do you have any new anti roll bar bushes?
She failed mot on too much play .
