Ignition won't budge

I was just about to go see my parents for the weekend, got in the van and tried to start it but the key will not move. I tried the steering and managed to lock that, which i now can't unlock. Essentially the key will not rotate in the ignition one little bit.

Any suggestions?

To say i am annoyed would be a massive understatement.

I've dismantled the steering column and removed the ignition and the car will start if I bypass using the key.

Looks like i will need to see Derek for a new ignition/key.
