I've used that method on every vehicle I've owned for the last twenty years.
I've generally welded a loop onto the seat base but on my current rascal I just throw the chain round the steering wheel and clip the lock onto one of the seat clips.

Wrap the short chain in a figure of eight around the foot pedals. Loop the long chain through the steering wheel. Bunch the four chain ends together & lock them together.

My battery died! That will do the trick....for now..sigh.

I was supprised to notice the low power LED on the zig unit light up. I wonder if the leisure battery is drawing a charge from the main battery. The leisure battery looks hooked up properly to the casual eye. Something wierd going on.

I had a similar problem on the bambi, turned out to be the split charge relay was wired up wrong & was running the van battery down, 10 mins with a meter sorted it out though.

Ha ha, the battery being flat in mine was the only reason it didn't get stolen the first time it got broken into.

The first time your van got broken into? How many more attermpts did they try before they gave up Smiley

As for my battery, something wierd is going on indeed, I have just the leisure battery plugged in yet the cab lights work and on the zig unit the battery OK LED is lit. Can anyone talk a complete dummy how to wire it up correctly? cheers!

One of my oldest customers had the van I supplied to replace his previous one which was stolen mid November, stolen last night.
It was parked in his front garden under his windows with the ignition cut out switch I fitted in the dead position.
I think they rolled it away. He didn`t hear a thing & its a quiet street.
He is a plumber & lost his tools again.
Lock up with heavy chains. This is what I do & I have never lost one [touch wood].
Also had a call from Bristol 2 weeks ago from a customer. She had had hers stolen & was asking how much a replacement would cost.

My alarm also has an immobiliser that by-passes the starter solenoid and I use a steering lock.

Anything that slows them down can only help!

The removable steering wheels seem a good idea!

cut the cable that goes in to the ignition coil or the crank live cable in to the starter solenoid and put a switch in maby or one or these perimeter allarms that wen u get close it tells u to move away
