yes simon, going to do the same to mine they do clog up,i would undue the bottom hose to empty system if you make sure the jubilee clip screw faces the top you do not have to get underneath next time just a tip

Hello Simon, You can also reach down from the top nearside of the radiator. You will probably need to turn it with pliers or mole grips. Derek.

forget that take the bottom hose off you said your water is brown your close to trouble top and bottom hose off and a full system flush cooling system on these vans is critical for long life.you must have antifreeze and summer coolant all year round it has corrosion inhibitors and chemicals to aid cooling in the summer.

I wouldn't bother with drain if its being a pain to undo, Just disconnect the bottom radiator hose. Less likely to damage an expensive rad that way

Right i went out and bought a new jubilee clip to fit in case the old one has had it. I've been under the van this morning trying all i can to unscrew the jubilee clip that's holding the pipe onto the bottom of the rad but it is rusted shut and i am just damaging the flat screw head. I didn't try and be more forceful with it as my face is right near it so i can see what i am doing, and a face full of rusty engine coolant probably isn't good for you.

Hiya Simon, Ive had this same problem loads of times, fortunately I have a pair of long handled side cutters/snips. I very carefully and without cutting into the rubber pipe snip the Jubillee off. If you have the room? (most instances not) you can carefully cut through the jubille with a small hacksaw, again taking care not to cut into the rubber pipe. Im sure one way or another your persiverance will pay off

sometimes a 7mm socket fits the jubilee clips ..its better and easier than the slot screwdriver ...
