what are the valve clearenses on a 1991 rascal. metric or imperial.and how much can be skimmed safely off of the head.

0.13-0.18 m.m. or 0.005-0.007 thou. As regards skimming, not a lot. If you have corrosion indents weld repair first before skimming. Also check the block surface for corrosion indents.

Yes, both are the same. Do inlets 1&2. Exhaust 1 &3 with the engine at top dead centre with no.1 cylinder on compression. Now turn the engine through 180 degrees until it is on the t.d.c. mark again & do 3 & 4 inlet & 2 & 4 exhaust. Derek.
