Essentially what happened was someone created a new thread about cambelt changes, and Mr. Thornbury rightly suggested that it be changed every 5 years or a certain number of miles (whichever came sooner I believe)

Another poster (Peter something) then began to contridict him in a belligerent way, questioning his expertise and even implying that his genuine help was merely a money making ploy. I didnt follow it through past that point but I could see it clearly all turned quite ugly there after.

I'm working from memory, and I was an anonymous viewing the threads, but the moderators clearly handled it all in an utterly facist way. I think they now have a 'private forum' only for 'genuine' bambi owners, so they can hide away.

I want to be clear that I am absolutely certain that most BOC members are fantastic people, but the BOC administrator(s)? and a few of its members are clearly sour grapes, and like Mr Thornbury, I wouldn't want to associate to those kind of people, and nobody should.

Thanks. I`ve been in plenty clubs over the years and you do get that happening. You have to wonder sometimes at peoples motivation for being involved. Thankfully I`ve only experienced genuine, friendly people here.

As many may know here already, I used to help co admin and co webmaster the BOC website and forum, trying to drag it and members into the 20th century, and after a brief tenure, walked away from it all, for many reasons, that some will be aware of, and I will not go into here. But I will always be indebted and thankful to those who gave me great support, some of whom are members here. If you want the full story behind those Peter episodes, slowcoach, pm me!

I set up rascalcampers.com in early November 2010, as a viable, sociable and friendly alternative, and the site has links which bring people here, to your forum. No politics, an informal gathering, dip in and out, and above all, no subscription!

I will not go into the politics of the BOC, as, from an outsider's POV,  it is up to them to deal with their many issues, but the flare ups they still have on an open forum, from time, do not bring it into good light, and are amusing.

Having been going just 6 months, we are delighted with our progress....and my great friend Tim, who has been so generous in his support, is totally stress free!
