Hey All,

First post to ask for info (didnt need to ask about alloys, read all the other posts), has anyone uprated their brakes at all, my brakes do feel a lil punny this is compared to a 58 Golf TDI so it might just be that but i do live in a very hilly part of devon and i wouldnt want them to give out going down a hill. I was just wondering about changing the disks and claipers etc etc, had anyone tried or is this a no go?

Cheers in advance

i dont remember any posts about uprating brakes ...but i have recently put new discs and pads on mine and its 100% better than it was and work great...

but they wil never be as good as a modern golf tdi...the wifes renault scenic brakes are awsome ...if the rascarry brakes were as good as the scenic then it would flip over for sure.......you could be the first to uprate your brakes ..would be intresting to know if its possible and  from what donor car.......next time only ask easy questions...haha..

Check that the rear drums are working OK they are huge brakes for such a little van. my brakes were really all front end but the discs are punni I cleaned out the drums and found the pistons sticking so gave then some exercise and re-assembled. I nearly went through the screen when I tried them after.

Just cleaning out the dust will make a difference (don't breath it in though ! )
You need a couple of M8 bolts to prise them of but its an easy job.
