My bedford bambi is discharging it's battery after 3 days or so, firstly thought it may have something to do with the split charge relay, after checking this out i could find no fault,
so disconnected it, now we are down to the original pickup's wiring, still running the battery down, stereo also disconnected so it's not that, battery is a goodun, so not that either, must be something to do with the alternator?
Any suggestions welcome.
Cheers

A basic test with a multimeter will check the output, put it on battery terminals with engine off and with it running, it should go up to 13.4 volts or thereabouts.

Disconnect the starter solenoid wirng & see if that stops the discharge. I have alternators & starters should you need one. Derek.

Thanks guys, i have checked the output from the alternator & its fine, putting an ampmeter in series with the battery shows no drain? very strange!
will try disconnecting the alternator lead & checking the battery in a few days, if still discharging will try the starter solenoid.

After a bit of detective work with my meter, found out the stereo was drawing power through the permanent live! (dodgy head unit)
fitting another head unit has totally cured it Grin
