This is the control which switches between winter and summer - warm/cool air respectively. On a pickup, there is a butterly shapd piece of wire, and there are 2 notches for the wire to switch between when twisted.
Which is the summer setting, front or back notch?

Cellulose thinners or petrol takes Waxoyle off. Spraying the underside of a Rascarry just makes a horrible mess. The worthwhile place to do it is inside the body panel voids. They rust from the inside out, virtually never from the outside in. It`s horrible working on a Waxoyled vehicle. Derek.

Hi Derek
I bought an MR2 a few years ago, before I started getting an interest in car mechanics. I have the interest now, partly because of cost, the two of us have 4 vehciles between us, but also I just enjoy it. It's a complete change from working at a desk in IT in the week.
I have a 2nd MR2, which isn't waxoyled, and just from a visual point of view, for example ease of finding things / inspecting things, I couldn't agree with you more that I'd rather the 1st MR2 and the Rascal weren't waxoyled. I was having a good poke around underneath at the weekend, and there isn't generally much rust. The Rascal, like our Cinquecento has one or two areas, like the front wings and door bottoms (and rear bumper brackets) which rust badly, but I'd much rather have point-spefiic solutions to those areas rather than spraying everywhere!
What is it makes you say that a a waxoyled vehicle is poor to work on?
Marc

Just because it is so horribly sticky. Also when doing welding repairs it has a tendency to catch fire!!!!! Derek.
