First of all I bought the alloys from a breaker ( a bit scuffed hopefully less likely to be pinched! They also had tyres with a load of tread) and a set of alloy wheel bolts

I then obtained a front hub. Took this and an existing wheel and an alloy wheel to a local machinist. Told him that i wanted the new wheel to sit with its inner side to the same as the existing wheel ( this was to avoid any rubbing on the suspension) and that I wanted the spacer to use the existing studs to be able to bolt it to the hub. Then obviously drill and tap new holes for the alloy wheel (see why the alloy bolts were handy)

Also i wanted the inner side of the spacer to be machined to allow for the wheel bore flange to fit and the outer side to be machined to fit the new wheel bore flange to seat the wheel onto.

Due to the offset the existing wheel studs did not come out any further than the spacer  so the nuts holding on the spacer have about 10mm thickness to tighten up to whilst remaining flush with the top of the spacer. also the flange will also help to stop them undoing even though they are thread lock nuts.

The wheels are 5.5 inch rims with 175 tyres and they stick out a bit but it is only the sidewall and not the tread. It has passed its MOT with flying colours .

hope this helps

Your all going about it the expensive way!

You need longer studs @£22.85:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/WHEEL-STUDS-ALL-FORDS-M12-X-63-MM-LENGTH-BRAND-NEW-SET-/290429608649?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item439ef422c9

You need spigot rings (one either side of the hubcentric spacer) @£10.74:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SPIGOT-RINGS-1-00-PER-RING-JUST-CHECK-SIZE-ORDER-/220570441540?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item335b05d744

Then you need to source any hubcentric spacer going cheap on eBay, which might cost £20 a pair.

A spigot ring (which you can get in almost ANY size) will centralise the wheel/spacer/hub, so you dont really need a custom made hubcentric spacer.
I bought 4 x ford hubcentric spacers for about £25. They were multi fit on the studs.

All in all, i spent around £50-£60 on mine to stop the wobble

However, on the rear, i found them pointless, as the rear hub is near enough flat, so you cant centralise anything on there. So save your cash, and just stick some standard spacers on there
