Hi All,

I am looking for alloys to fit on the van but am a bit confused & wondered if anyone can advise.

The thing confusing me - I have read I need wheels which have a centre bore of 60.1 for them to locate on the hub yet the original wheels don't locate on the hub as the centre hole on the original wheel is much bigger than 60.1.

Why would they need to be 60.1 if the original wheels are not?

Or does this only apply if using spacers?

Confused

Smithy,
you are right, getting a wheel that locates on the centre is simply unknown, so far......
obviously if using spacers, which you most likely will have to with any aftermarket wheel, they are always going to be non concentric ( is that right) i.e. not fit and/or sit centrally to the hub. My spacers have elongated holes for the studs, there is very very little movement, but it's enough to throw the wheels out of balance sometimes.

Funny enough, I was experimenting last night with the same issue. The spacers could be made to fit centrally, but at what cost I ask, and unfortunately there wouldn't be enough to tool up & mass produce to keep costs down.
Ain't it always....

I  have found these hubcentric spacers.

I think the pictures are the wrong way round though.

Very expensive but is it worth it?

mmmmmm, now then, well found!!
We would have to be sure that they do centralise on the Rascarrys hub, just because they fit the Swift pcd, IS it the same hub front & rear.

Anyone near the shops to try one? I f they are correct, I may be able to get some made out of steel.

But yes, fantastic looking, bloody pricey though I agree.

Titch,

I think its online/mail order only & they will probably have to order them in specially so no returns.

I don't think these would have any benefit on the rear though as the hubs are flat & there is nothing to locate to.

This is true,
I suppose in an ideal world, if they were fixed as centrally to the rear as possible, then a lathe to centre them up...

But I think the front are the culprits for wheel wobble really???

Never mind, stick below 50 then they have GOT to read the website address on my pick up!!

My alloys are sitting in the shed while I sort the spacer problem so I might give this a try and let you know. I will speak to them tomorrow and see it I can do a deal ... But I was planning on making some 20mm.

The 6.1/5 J's I have got look like they need 20mm not 15mm but 25mm will probably do ...

I will come back shortly as I wanted to get to the rally with the chuncky rubber fitted.

Watch this space.

I have traced these spacers to the manufacturers in Germany

H&R Spezialfedern GmbH + Co.KG
Elsper Strasse 36
57368 Lennestadt
Germany

Clearly there are a lot os subdistributors in the supply chain before they get to us Brits and so far they say they will not supply direct. But I am negotiating so if anyone is interested let me know..

Good news is that the pictures on the MSW website were rubbish and the 15mm and the 25mm spacers both have hubconcentric swaging to support the wheel when the spacer is fitted. So no possible out of balance issues. The stud is longer on the spacer so that should mean a full nut can be fitted when the alloys are attached.

Also (because they are German !) they are made to a TUV standard and since we know how shaky insurance companies are about modifications ... they have a TUV certificate with performance tables to support what is obviously a very good product and you can download this from there website if you need to convince your insurers.

It's possible the price from MSW is very high so I am looking for a direct supply or a local German distributor who can ship them. More news later

I fitted vw polo wheels and as offset was wrong and ocd i had 20mm spacers made up that bolt to the original hub and use bolts to attach the wheels

The spacers were machined to  incorporate the the hub bore perfectly so no need for the spacer rings. Cost for four spacers was £130 (if i remeber correctly) But hey got wheels and tyres for £50 ..........

This looks good and the 4"PCD means you could have a wide (joke) choice of wheels.

You must have produced a drawing for these have you got a copy you can down load ?

Thanks
