Hi and welcome mark...Now thats a question nobody can answer but yourself ...it depends on what you are willing to accept and how much you want to pay....anything from a £100 rust bucket(LOTS OF WORK)... to £1400 for one of delboys refurbs (NO WORK AT ALL)...THE DECISION IS YOURS......CHOP

Welcome...
In my limited experience the biggest problem is that sellers pictures rarely show the real condition of the van... on the other hand I was very lucky and got a good one for £500 that pasted its MOT first time last month. Also because these babies have a Chassis not a monocoque(can't spell it..but you know what I mean !) they can be tatty without being a head case so it's a difficult call. My advise don't agree anything or part with any money until you can poke your screwdriver at it !!
Good luck

Better to avoid post 1992 as they have all the emissions gizmos & catalytic converter so more difficult to get through emissions. The Japanese built Suzuki`s post 1994 seem to corrode at a faster rate than the earlier British built ones. The best bodies seem to be on `86 to `88 vans. Don`t know why, perhaps better rust treatment when built. This is based on the hundreds that have passed through my hands but is not scientific just a general observation. The best one I deal with is a 1986 but has lived mostly in a garage & I service/M.o.T. it once a year. Derek.

These are from my 1993 Supercarry... I can't believe how much rust there is on it compared to either my 87/90 Rascals. There's so much rust on it I'll be cutting it up and scrapping the shell.

On the subject of rust, my J plate carry has only had two very small patches (now welded) on the rear inner sill, the rest of underneath is near mint I was lucky enough to get it for £165 with 6 months mot, but it had rusty rear arches & a dented door, mechanically it is great, i have had it nearly three years & love it to death! My D plate bambi is totaly rust free underneath & body work is brilliant, i think campers are generally well looked after though. Pirate
