Hi everyone,I was surprised to see how active this org is,looks like a useful source of info, parts, advice etc.
I am on my second 'Rascal',I had a yellow J plate 1.0l 5 speed which I sold about 6 years ago and in July got hold of a 52 plate Carry pickup, which I was intending to use all summer to do the garden landscaping with.
Had a nasty fall at work back in May,but bought it anyway.Bit of a coincidence here, but got wind through a builder friend that it was for sale and when I arranged to see it the owner was my mothers cousin,so knew it was all genuine.Anyway,52 plate,28k miles, one owner, used to take dogs to breeders shows so no heavy work, taxed and mot'd,500 quid.Does this sound reasonable?
Anyone know why I don't see many pickups about?
Are these vans at cult status like Beetles yet?I was amazed to find an owners' forum going strong.
Speak to some of you soon, all the best.

Spot on.Dead useful though, use it for trips to the builders merchants, moving my boy's Honda atc trike about for riding off road, dumping rubbish on bathroom rip-outs for customers and tipping mud and rubble from my own house (as intended).
Would you guys mind the slightly newer 1.3s coming on board?

Gotta agree with Chop, I find my pick up far more useful than a van, horses for courses obviously but mines a mobile advert too.
I've a 'D' reg pick up to get on with when I get time too!!

WELCOME TO YOU HOO!!

I know very little about the Carry`s. Are they fuel injected? Derek.

Hi Derek, thanks for getting in touch so quick. These have a 1.3 all alloy 16v!efi lump, similar to a Swift.Makes about 77 bhp, revs like a motorbike, and will spin and drift around roundabouts!
I have a swb renault trafic, but can get more length-wise on the carry with the tail gate down:8x4 plasterboards and plywood etc.It was screeming at 90 mph,but seems comfy and fairly quiet at 80 all day.Reccommended.

Hello Martin, Thanks for the info. I have been considering moving onto to Carry`s but I reckon I will stick with Rascarry`s until I retire in a couple of years. With a specification like that they are too complex for my old, worn out brain to comprehend. Derek,
