OK as promised the step by step guide..

These are most of the bits that came in the kit..motors.. brackets..screws.. clamps..rods..etc..etc....notice 4 motors ..but im only using 2 of them
(cos i only have 2 doors)..one of the motors is a master motor ..this goes on the drivers door then if you do decide to use a key to open the door it will also automatically open the rest too...

OK first remove the door cards..should be a piece of cake..but i broke my window winder doing it...my fault i pulled when i should have pushed lol...its ok i have some spare ones..

After alot of head scratching i decided where and how i was going to fit the motor..so out came the drill ..drilled a hole to attach the bottom of the motor....

to fix the top of the motor i used an existing screw/bolt and cut the bracket to fit
accros to the top mounting on the motor

Then with the rods supplied i clamped the new rod to the existing rod ..(the one below the button you press to lock the doors)...then i ran the wires through the side of the top door hinge ..along the hinge and through a hole i drilled ..and into the cabin just level with the back of the headlamps...

I did exactly the same on the other door then replaced the cards .And then i struggled to find a place to mount the reciever for the remote ..but after a bit more head scratching i decided to put it under the steering colom...it was awkward but it was the best place i could think of...and its hidden out of the way..I picked up power from the permanant live from the back of my cd player ..which is joined into the white wire at the back of the fuse box...which is a permanant live..and the earth i just screwed to the bodywork with an existing screw...plugged mi wires into it and click click...as easy as that ...it was done

i got two remotes with mine and they work very good they came with batterys ..i walked half way down the street and they still operated the locking...all i have to do now is fit a diode between the central locking and the headlights ..so they will flash when i operate the locking...whoo hoo..

By 'eck lad, thar's posh!!

Great info & piccies Chop, good on Ya!

I've got the same kit too, yet to fit it, but will it foull the electric windows motor I wonder JJ??
That's just a  'Help' question before I take the cards off to have a look.

Also Chop, why does your pick up look very very tidy?? The rear pick up tub on mine is well battered and the engine cover too!! I think mines had a hard life in comparison!!

Ah!
Thanks JJ, I knew you'd make me feel better, you're a star!
I WILL get round to it sometime and I'm sure from memory that what you are saying will be OK!
I'm waiting for Chop to tell me how he CLAMPED the new rods to the old, God knows what he's playing with this evening....

QUIET JEN!!

i got clamps with the kit....little brass colored things ..they just slot over the new rod ...tighten up with a screw...then slot the existing rod into a groove and that also has two screws which tighten onto the rod..piece of cake..

Cheers ken...it really was easy...but i have the advantage of just having the two doors and straight across the rear of the dash ...it may be a little more tricky with the sliding doors  and rear hatch..with all the wires...but i am sure you will get over that.....CHOP

Hey well done Chop

I just got my electric window kit delivered so now I have Door speakers,Electric windows kit central locking kit and the alarm to fit all in one go, might be sending jj a few mails next week but luckily I booked the week off of work next week. I don`t see how you could fit central locking to the sliding doors because of the slidey bit but someone knows how it can be done please share.

I expect that i will draw so much current when I turn off the alarm, open the locks and wind down my windows that my battery will be flat lol.

cheers guys...no electric windows for me though...i have this nightmare of someday crashing into a large lake or river ...and i cant open the doors ...so i have to wind down the windows to escape...and with electric windows that wouldn't be possible....so i will stick with my winders...and to be honest they dont get wound down very often anyway......but i do like the remote locking...wicked...
