Hi again
Totally confused,  how come I can read all the forums before I sign in but am restricted when I am?  Sitting at my desk having lunch I thought it would be fun to enter Rascal world for a while. Having just purchased Brian the topic on a cheap Bambi appealed. Oh no!!!! Brian is the Camper that was for sale on the Isle of Wight, I am the poor bugger who paid £1500. What was wrong with it? We drove him the 200 miles home. There is some damp, water ingress, and I was going to ask for ideas on that. The wiring is I am told interesting and he is currently having that sorted. Underneath the front there is some rust and the front quarter is going to need some work but my normal mechanic doesn't think it is too big an issue. The EBay advert did, I thought, sound like it was an owner selling it, who turned out to be a dealer?  Bit miffed at that, but I repeat we drove him 200 miles home, he averaged 28mph and at £1500 he was over a grand less than we had seen a couple of others at from dealers with a lot higher mileage. So where did I go wrong?
I did want to ask this under the topic but computer said NO when I logged in. Looks like I am not going to be allowed to play after all.

All new members are fenced in to the New Members area to stop spammers and bots from trashing every forum on here. Dizzie - van the man will be along before too long. He's the site admin and will set you up full access to all groups pls just give it a little while for him to get on the case, cheers.

Ps: welcome  Wink

Welcome to the Forum!

Yes...I must confess I did see a Bambi on the Isle that did look a bit like yours, from your description. First and foremost I am sincerely sorry if I've caused you any initial alarm! I didn't mean to disturb you and as all the good people here will confirm that I'm a total looney and an utter sensationalist!

On the other hand, I'm extremely glad you have signed up. I was exactly like you not so long ago, I bought my Bambi from a young couple on Mull. I drove the thing all the way back to London. By the time I'd realised what a state it was in it was all far too late to have any regrets. Needless to say I will endevour (and I'm sure all the great people on this forum too) to help you out with your Bambi.  I pretty much only signed up on here to help people, who like myself got a deal they didn't expect. And also general Rascarrybambi worship duties.

Certainly if you do have a bit of a restoration budget, we've got one regular (rascalvan10) who specialises in Bambi's and if you did need someone to carry out any sort of work he can help. Derek (dellboy) is also extremely helpful and can perform a wide range of services on these addicting little vans.

In the mean time, if you head over to the Bambi related sub forum, you will find an entire guide with my experiences on my Bambi, plus some other useful information. Again if you have any questions, you can either reply to this thread or PM me directly.
