Sounds like the carb jets are blocked.
If you can get it to me at my yard i can have a look at it.
I do a stripped, cleaned, tested & set up carb for £25.00 exchange plus £8.00 postage or I can fit it for £20.00 at my yard in Dartford. Or you can collect one from Rainham,Essex or Dartford.
Very fiddly job to change the carb on a Bambi.
Could possibly be the points gap has closed up. Does it start easily?

I would replace the points & condenser, they could be the reason for bad starting & rough running.
I always carry these in the van now.

If it doesn`t start by the third turn off the key it will be flooded with petrol.
Foot to the floor, choked pushed in until it fires up then give it choke if it is a cold engine.
Sounds like the points gap has closed up.
Bring it in & we`ll sort it.

Welcome to the site.
Acceleration jets blocked in carb or only running on three cylinders is my guess.
What has been done to it recently?
How long have you had it?

I have had the vehicle for approx 4 years. It has had a complete overhaul, rebore, re ringed, pistons etc.
It has been fine, but just recently this loss of power has occurred, but only on hills.
Thanks for your reply.

Its the carb then or possibly points/condenser.
I do a stripped, cleaned out, set up & tested carb for £30.00 exchange plus £8.00 postage.

Thankyou for your reply, will replace the points and condenser first, if that fails will come back to you re the carb, if you don't mind.
Thankyou for your help, it's really appreciated.

Set points to 0.6m.m.
Put a dab of  vaseline on cam lobes for lubrication.
Check distributor is advanced by the vacuum pipe.
Oil advance/retard mechanism.
Cut a slot in new condenser mounting bracket to make the next replacement easier.
Thoroughly polish the distributor under the condenser to give a good earth.
