Hi all
As u may have read in another post just recently i was having starting problems, thanks to dellboy this was sorted with a nice starter motor.
My problem is now that a fully charged battery 2 months old will not start her in the morning, i have to put a booster on and she will start first turn, lovely i can cope with that for a while, but now twice in the last three days ive done two trips of maybe 6 miles or more , when she starts to judder and eventually stops dead, turns the key and nothing complete silence. Just got towed to work put charger on and she started first time, drove her around the block came back turned her off and tryed to start again and nothing!!!!!! Ive now got her on charge again.
Sorry for the long windedness but i thought if u had the full facts then u mat know what my problem could be.
Hope someone can help as this is my daily just need to get to friday and im off so can sort out.
Thanx in advance mark

I would check all your earth straps and your main lead to the batteries. These can fray to the point that sometimes you'll get nothing, move them a touch and you get full current again. I have found that the engine to earth lead (left side of engine) can degrade and become faulty.

Yes,

any decent sized one that you know is truly part of the engine's casting etc, wire brush off to make a very clean connection both ends.

You could use a jump lead in the same way, making a connection, just to test if this is the problem first. In reality though, you'll only be doing good with a good earth connection, so I'd do it anyway.

Do the earth as suggested.
If that does not work have the alternator checked.
It may not be working or shorting to earth.
Does the red ignition/battery light go out when the engine is running?

Ah,
that could be one of the main problems then, the battery isn't getting the charge and as Chop says, you'll be using more electrical parts this time of year.
Earth cable is still a very good idea to get done anyway, but I would go for another alternator as well.
