Trip to the Western Isles

On the last leg now, just sitting in the chippie at Godmanchester waiting for my cod and chips.

Didn't get much in the way of wind on the journey down, and everything running good on the van. Will total all the fuel receipts when I get back but reckon I have got away with 11 tanks of fuel for the journey.

That's nothing, in June and July I've got a 3,100 mile trip planned across 12 countries in Europe. Watch this space

i cant even do a 8 mile round trip to work at the moment,keep me informed on your european trip duncan im off to the south of france as usual in july would recommend alan rogers campsite in europe info

Anyway, down to some admin.  The last of the pictures have been uploaded to facebook and I totalled up all 12 fuel receipts for my trip and get the following:

Miles covered - 1579.8
Fuel used - 267.04 litres (58.74 gallons)
MPG average - 26.9, varied from 24.0 to 29.8 for each fill
Fuel Cost - £360.29

The strong winds knocked the MPG back a little on what I normally get but not as bad as I expected.

That's it for now, I'll give the little van a well earned rest for January other than a quick trip out to have a new exhaust fitted.  Normal service will resume in February at the Rascal meet up

WOW, that is what my bambi does in a year!
Glad you had a good trip, i intend a spring tour of lincolnshire, followed by a summer tour of devon/cornwall (i prefer warmer temps for my tours!).
I will be upgrading the interior of mine over the next couple of months, i have a neat flip down digital telly with dvd & radio to fit, as well as a second fridge!

A second fridge?  Respect!  But where would you hide it - I'm guessing in one of the locker spaces?

It's a bit smaller than the standard fridge, but fits in neatly under the sink, it works from either 12 volt or mains hookup & can hold 12 cans of beer
I will also fit some new carpet, as the old one is looking a bit grubby now.
Roll on spring!
