Tomorrow I start my 1,500 mile round trip to the Western Isles in the Bambi, taking 4 days to get there instead of doing my normal rush... Saturday 17/12 Southport (Riverside) Sunday 18/12 Glasgow Monday 19/12 Isle of Skye Tuesday 20/12 Western Isles Hopefully the weather won't be too bad and there won't be road closures or smashes to hold me up, although I have to accept that it is the season for such distractions. Thanks for the replies folks, I'm now raring to go and fully loaded with Carlsberg, corned beef, and Pringles. Hopefully, I can survive anything that's thrown at me  |

Hi Duncan weather on west coast is a mix of light rain and some period of heavy rain winds not to bad for next 5 days going a wee run up there myself so may spot you. temps are still above freezing butnot much basicaly its just another scottish summer but without the midges, garages are still selling sun scream and snow shovels i guess in scotland we can build a snowman then cover it in factor 10 to protect it from the sun ,roads are well gritted this year so you should have a great run have a nice time try not to let petrol run low fillup before the western isles petrol up there is scandolous. best regards alan

Thanks Alan, ps: we are hoping Tesco open a filling station up there to break the monopoly on the petrol/diesel prices which as you've pointed out are shameful....
