Hey guys, i have a silly questions about fitting some rear seats into my super carry panel van.

1. It is insured under a commercial policy and only with two seats, so would it be allowed ?
2. With no existing mounts for the seats would it be a lot of work ?
3. If i am able to do it, i will be using a double seat out of a Britten-Norman Trislander Aircraft (as seen bellow), the plane is not very wide at all seat edge to seat edge 40" max. Would this fit ?

they do a six seater vehicle so its possible to add seats ...it all depends on how they are fixed ..we fit extra seats in vans all the time and they are just bolted through the floor with 6x10mm bolts two at the front and four on the rear legs..and bolted through a 100mm square steel plate 6mm thick underneath the flloor ..and 100mm steel plates under the front legs to prevent legs going through floor in an accident im not sure how to go about changing the class of vehicle ..but im sure its not too difficult....you need to chat to a good mot man and im sure he would point you in the right direction

It is allowed but you will DEFINITELY need to inform your insurance company of this (your current insurance will be invalid if you don't).....and don't expect them to like it!!! Although do inform them that approved rear seated versions of the vehicle were available.

I have a full set of rear seats that I took out of a Rascal minibus a while ago for sale if your aircraft seat project doesn't work out. They have the seat belts and everything with them.

Hi Titch i found it on google images, those particular aircraft mainly operate out of Guernsey by Aurigny and Blue islands Airlines, except for the odd one or two based elsewhere around the world.

I have flown on them a few time to Dinard (France) and Jersey, they used to scare the s**t of me when i was a wee lad lol. They rattle and shake and it feels like they barely have enough power to take off lol.  However i thought that the seats would look pretty awesome in the back of the van for mates to sit on, i can also acquire them fairly easily as my uncle is an aircraft engineer/mechanic for the company that maintain these panes over here.  Grin
