Just had a go at trying to fit the new condencer,i removed the wire that goes to the coil but to undo the earth screw its almost impossible. It looks you have to remove the distributor to get to the screw. I'm I able to put the new condencer in a different place with a good earth or has it to stay where it is.
 HELP PLEASE

Hello Noel, you fit it to one of the other screws on the distributor, as long as the body is earthed it should be ok.
When I replace these, I turn the distributor to make the job easier. If you haven't got a timing light you will need to mark the distributor and it's housing so it goes back to exactly the same place after you have fitted the condenser.
Without the use of a timing light, it is probably easier to fit the condenser to one of the other screws.

When fitting the new condenser cut a slot in the mounting bracket so as to slide it under the fixing screw so you do not have to remove the screw completely & risk losing itthe next time.
