Help please  Grin.  Bambi failed to start this morning after a couple of days left standing.  The battery seems to drain very quickly if I happen to mess up starting her.  I've had to get jump starts from neighbours a couple of times recently.  So I'm assuming it's a new battery that's needed.  I just had a look at what battery is currently there and all I could see on it was, "type 063".  So I searched for that on eBay and came up with lots of batteries.  Should any "063" battery be okay?  I need one that can be delivered otherwise I've got to get a bus into the next town and carry one home!

Don't ask me to put a meter on anything because I don't have one and wouldn't know what to do with it if I did  Wink

I think I'm just going to go ahead and order one and hope its the right one and that there's not an underlying problem!

Check the dimensions & amperage on it first!

I haven't measured the battery compartment, but those dimensions look pretty similar to the battery that's already in there.  Time will tell!

Thanks for all your replies guys - sorry I didn't have time to wait and heed all the advice - I'm self-employed so have to get moving again or I'm losing money  Sad.

so long as it fits in the hole and it has the correct type terminals ...it should be ok...

Halfords do a free battery check ..take it there

Just been googling car batteries (what fun) and this article

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/products/210431/car_batteries.html

says that the "063" that I used as a reference from the old battery is a code for the size (physical dimensions) of the battery.  So I can be reasonably sure it will at least fit in the hole!

Its the season, "Off mists & mellowed fruitfullness" or alternatively the sound of batteries slowly dying due to cold damp mornings, short journey`s in the dark with lights & heater on so not charging the battery
enough for the next mornings start.
Nice new battery & a good service should sort it.
063 is fine.

I had similar problems with my bambi when i first got it, turned out to be a dodgy split charge relay, now replaced & no more problems in the last two years  Cool
