i never use the passenger door really, but did earlier today and noticed someone has tried forcing the lock out with a screwdriver, no damage to body work just the lock itself, enough for the key to not fit
this much of happened recently as not noticed it before
the passenger side faces away from the house and they have not long ago turned the street light off outside my house, also the clock change
going to pull out the ht leads no when i park it up
i dont think ill stop them from getting in but i may be able to slow them down trying to drive off in it
should give me enough time to hear or the dog to hear and stop them
little b#####s
u aint gunna deport my van

Large chain & padlock through steering wheel down to clutch pedal. Make it very visible.
Best is a bright yellow road wheel clamp.

not really too fussed about the lock as i can reach over from the other side and don't really use it anyway, just wanna know ways of slowing the buggers down from pinching it
thought about disconnecting the battery but don't really fancy having to reconnect it every time, don't mind doing something with the engine under passenger seat as i can do that from sitting in the van

i did think about a wheel clamp, i there not something a can quickly do to the engine which it not too noticeable from the drivers seat
the van has a bit of a lazy battery anyway as i keep having to jump off the other car if its left longer a 48hours
may just put the other car infront but when i go out in the other car that kinda defeats the reason

Why not fit a secret switch or button..disableing it from starting ..i have one and i use it all the time it becomes routine after a while..

like you say it doesnt stop them getting in but they wont drive it away..

a number of options...any wire that stops the engine from running..small wires that feed coil...wire that feeds distributer ..wire that goes to ignition ...wire that goes to the fuel cut off solenoid on top of carburetter is simple to do...just tap into it and fit a switch ...a tiny switch where only you know its there ..BUT when you drop it off for the MOT man dont turn it off...?? otherwise he will be ringing you up asking why it wont start .like someone i know..Huh?..haha

Glad they didn't get your van.

But next time make sure you get them and shove that screw driver of theirs somewhere they won't forget!

Mind if I ask roughly where abouts you live (just to get an idea of the risky areas)

I've said it on here before but the best thing is a big very visible chain and padlock round steering wheel and pedals/loop welded on seat box.
I've use this method all my life and never had a vehicle touched. I lived in Toxteth in Liverpool for 15 years and never had a vehicle touched when others around it were constantly being messed with.
There are always easier vehicles to have a bash at than the one with the big chain on. They'll see the chain and move on to the next one. Guaranteed!
