Mmm, I can see what you are saying.
The NHS whilst still free at point of use does have some horror stories. I know not so long ago my brother was involved in an accident and ended up on a spinal board with a suspected fractured neck. As such he was imobalised for his own safety until they could confirm what exactly the prognosis was (thankfully just a hairline fracture that healed).
During this time he was left without food/drink and we had to keep an eye on him as if he were sick due to the way he was tied down he could have suffocated

The downside is this particular story comes from a certain local hospital that has a few similar stories too.
I have quite a bit of my family in the NHS and know that 99% of the people involved try their best but I think it's just a case that these days they are far too stretched.
