I'm clearing out my shed and letting all things Rascal go...

I'm sick and tired of Rascalling because of the Nigerian exporters it just feels like a constant battle to keep vans and parts in the country. I'm already getting calls from some idiot in London wanting to buy this van to export...

Nice good looking little van, good luck selling her!

I have heard a lot about all these exporters to nigeria, africa etc. Any idea who they are. Travellers / gypsies, private invidivuals or even gangsters? I'm probably totally wrong but something sounds distinctly criminal about them, especially as it seems nicked vans go their way. I wonder if they also go after Bambi's too?

Then again, anything I hear to do with Nigeria involves some kind of scam, corruption or criminality.

I have sold four vans that were too bad to restore to a Nigerian & the deals went very smoothly. He even paid upfront for one of the vans which was not ready.
Had a terrifying lift home by him in a Peugeot 406 with two others in the car.
I was the only one wearing a seat belt, happy, clappy hymns on the c.d. seemed to be what they relied on to keep them alive.

We have been approached loads of times, one chap wanted every van ( 15 at the time) and was offering very good money, but as I explained, selling spares is my business and selling the lot would bring this to an end !!.
I think we will see a great shortage of spares for a lot of older cars as a lot are going abroad.
When did you last see a Toyota Hi-Lux ? , or nissan van, even midi vand are rare now.

Well my Bambi is deffinately going to be here to stay!

I'm 100% convinced her low milage is genuine, but even still I wonder if there are any parts I should consider buying. Things like filters, plugs, seem to be in no real short supply afaik.

Does anything on these vans have a habit of dying which is worth buying before there's none left? I saw a Bambi on ebay just now with about 120k on the clock. Looked really hopeless.

Shame those Maruti Omni van's in india which are very similar to rascarries can't be stripped for compatible parts. Maybe their parts could at least be reengineered (that's deffinately beyond my mechanical abilities though)

Rascals (or Suzuki Super Carry) vans are still produced in various parts of the world. Replacement front wheel arches are readily available in those countries for as little as £20 for example.
