Just got this 83 suzuki carry van a few months ago.
It has an f8a...
Temp gauge moved alot so a put in a reco radiator. Sweet
...then it wouldnt get warm at all! no thermostat-- at all! so in goes a new one of those.
got warm to right point on gauge and no warmer, best of all it ran sweet!
....for about 30mins. boom.. stuck on side of road. got it home and found cambelt snapped.
Got a new one put it in... gave it an oil flush and filter change... times 2 with a few days.

now it runs nice... but it ticks like nobodys business!
trying to find valve clearances to adjust the tappets (as we call them in Australia- i think valve lash?)
so if anybody knows the inlet and exhaust valve clearances please help!
cant get a repair manual for 81-84 anymore Sad
cheers

i have no idea if they are much different to f10A engine ...but just keep closing the gap till they dont rattle...so long as there is a gap it will be ok..dont overdo them

f8a engine clearances are 0.13-0.18mm exhaust and inlet with engine cold
