Hi all

My super carry looks like the clutch might not have too much life left in it, so just looking into options for getting a new clutch kit for it. The clutch bites really close to the top of the pedal, and slips when the van is quite loaded up, so still has a bit of time left, but it would probably be wise to start looking at options now

I cant seem to just find a part number for the clutch? What part number would i need? Better to order off ebay etc, or to just take the part number to a bunch of companies locally and see what they can get?

Other thing, is when i push the clutch pedal in in neutral, it is silent, but when i release the pedal in neutral then there is a grinding noise, now its not a big issue, just figured, if i have the van apart and am replacing the clutch then it would make sense to deal with that issue too. Looks like it would be the transmission input shaft bearing? or possibly the thrust bearing, but that would be replaced with the clutch kit regardless

The part number isnt by any chance SZK2005 is it? This seems to be the exedy part number, but i can only find one for 178 pounds... So not locked to a certain brand, happy with anything that of of reasonable quality

Thanks

Plenty of clutches on ebay etc. About £60 to £80 will get you a 3 piece one.
The noise you hear is the gearbox bearing. They go on for years being noisy.
Do your clutch sooner rather than later as you might end up with scores on your flywheel.

you could try adjusting the free play by slackening the nut on the clutch cable . this might give you a bit more life out of the clutch until you get to change it. noah

I have found that asking for Suzuki parts always gives big prices and motor shops have no cross reference between identical Suzuki and Bedford parts.
Try asking for a Bedford Rascal clutch - it will be a lot cheaper.

Most (although not all eg front brake calipers and pads) Rascal and Supercarry parts are identical.

Derek: Unfortunately none of them seem to want to send to New Zealand at a decent price, thanks though

Noah: I will do that, the clutch is fine for every day use for now, but slips with reasonable load in it, so cant have too much life left in it, so just looking into it now, to see what options i have for future

Spacehopper: I will definately keep that in mind, will make sure i mention rascal or super carry clutch kit, cheers

I would assume this offer doesn't stand with me being in New Zealand though?

Should have mentioned in my original post, im in New Zealand, so those clutch kits on ebay dont seem to ship to NZ, or if they do they want to charge rediculous amounts for shipping  Embarrassed

Which leads me to wanting to try source it locally

I will post it to New Zealand if you're willing to pay whatever it costs but I'm sure it won't be cheap.

Some other part numbers:
Borg and Beck Part number: HK8539
Sachs part number: 3000835501

We can supply a 3 piece clutch for £59.95+vat, but postage to New Zealand will be at whatever the postal services charge, this is out of our hands, but please note !, we don't charge for packing either.
It might be worth checking with "parcel2go" to see how much they would charge.
My guess is it will expensive to send something half way round the world.
