Hi all you may have read my signature on one of my posts
i am re-building the rascal (a mover model i might add  Grin ) to use to raise money for charity,
its something i want to do as my partners mother has just been diagnosed with terminal cancer and macmillan have been amazing,
i also have signed up to become a Community First Responder for the west yorkshire ambulance service, we attend 999 calls and have the equipment that can save lives (a defibrillator) however there is no central funding and each kit costs in the region of £3500 in my area we have 1 kit between 10 responders and if on call you can get over 50 call outs over a two day period so we are needed,

i am hoping to raise cash for both macmillan and the West Yorkshire CFR's,
we were going to start out by getting the van up to john'o'groats and go down the west coast through wales down to lands end and not be able to leave the van except for photo evidence of each place we have been, howevere people dont seem that impressed that we are 'Driving' a van,
they dont get that its a rascal..

i now propose to start out on the west coast drive the circumference of the entire country and return back to the startimng point with challenges set out for us to acheiev in various places.

im looking for more input and ideas that would encourage people to back the pventure all running costs of the van and our food would be covered by us not out of the cash raised ,

please throw some ideas at me so i can make it more challenging !

cheers

James

Its not easy...but driving a van around england doesn't raise any eyebrows..when people have traveled in bath tubs and unicycles .....maybe pushing the van from john o groats to lands end could attract more attention....with a gang of pretty girls walking alongside with collection buckets....get a local dignatory to steer it through his town... MAYOR or town cryer...or someone people recognise....plan ahead and make an event in each town you pass through...or just get some banners and permission to park in town centers and do collections..

cheers titch i may hold you to that one,

i am looking for local businesses to sponsor a spot on the van, i think that the charm of the little van with the correct paint job eg the a team van and dressed as mr 'T' all the way would raise some interest?

just plucking at ideas and many ideas make great ideas from my experience, living in that tiny van is no small task
