The fuel pump packed up while I was driving along a busy road..... It just died.... and I have to say I thought I was in danger of doing so as well. There was nowhere to pull over and I only had a heavy wall paper scraper in the van... so I clonked it a couple of times, it started to try and click....I managed to get home.... just. It did cut out a couple of times more... so now I am well and truly up the creek. i will try and hit it with a hammer, but I won't be driving anywhere but up to the mechanics when I finally get a pump... which won't be for at least a week, maybe two. I am right fed up. Sad

Thanks hun, I did see that one, but thanks to jj007 I don't need one now, he came round today and put one on that he had spare. So he saved me a fair old wedge.... Top man.

the pumps can be repaired, mine stopped so i removed it removed one screw thet holds the black plastic top, carefully remove top while feeding the wires back through the gromet.with a small emerry paper ,clean the contacts where the voltage goes through.re assamble unit and try on the bench,if it goes and you block the outlet pipe with your fingure the pump should slow down to a tick or stop, take fingure off aand it should go again...it worked for me Smiley

Thanks Aussie,
Maybe you could post this on the "How To" section.... if I had know this then I would have perhaps given it a go. I will certainly bear it in mind if this one packs up...Smiley

I know JJ,I threw it in the bin.... but if I have another that goes poomtang, it would be worth having a fiddle to see if it can be saved...
Havn't got round to getting a stereo and speakers yet... went to Halfords as I was told if you buy from there they fit for free.... Not only was I told that they don't fit for free, they charge, but they also said that they wouldn't fit it into a Bedford Rascal.... I thought that was a bit "vannist" so I told them to keep their stereo...
