another dodgy electric problem.

i have put a pair of driving lamps on the roof of my van at the back, and wired them into the reversing lamps for better lighting.
they were working fine until i put a set of four driving lamps on the roof at the front.
last night i put taller brackets on them so i can point them down at the floor.
now then i put the van in reverse none of the lights come on.
when i put the rear dimister on all the reversing lights come on.
have i got crossed wires or have i done something when i put the front lights on.
cheers colin.

Id check your wiring to the front lights, try disconnect everything and start plugging is back in one by one.
Have you used a relay on the reverse switch wire and put an inline fuse on them aswell? Those lights will draw a fair amount of current so dont wire them in without a relay and fuse.

i havnt used relays .
i wired them direct into the reverse light wires,so they come on when you put the van in reverse gear.
the front lights are wired direct from the battery through a switch.
they are working fine.

with that amount of lights you will need relays, or you will overload the wiring.
