Hi all, I've just joined the forum because I have recently installed a refurbished engine in my other half's bambi. I did the work myself because I have a Suzuki SJ, which has the same engine (more or less).  With nearly everything hooked up - MOT ON FRIDAY !!! - I am left with two battery negative leads, one of which I think attaches where the starter motor is bolted to the bellhousing. If that is correct, where does the other one go? Any help gratefully appreciated as I have little time left to get her fired up up and off to the MOT.

Thanks, dommo.

The engine is earthed from the exhaust manifold to the body and from the rear end of the gearbox to the body.

Haynes manual, Page 8.6 picture 8.10 shows where it bolts onto the cables abutment plate.

i now have a good earth from the gear box and exhaust manifold.

however, I am still left with the cable which I mistakenly thought would attach to the starter motor bolt - but the eye is too small for the bolt.

It comes from the battery neg post and is slightly thicker than the one which goes to the gearbox.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
