Hi,

I have noticed that my rascal isn't doing very well on the mpg and not too sure why. At the moment I am only doing very short trips in it at the mo, so know that it should be around 35 mpg, however I have noticed I am only getting around 25 Huh Any idea why this may be?

on my run up to cumbria i got 37 mpg i think van got 38 mpg but my average is 34 running round, would pay you to have a crypton tune if you can find one, that way it should be set up spot on,also depends on how you drive it van drives the same as i do we do not hang about, having spoke to a fair few rascal drivers most average mid 30s.

Mines Bambi so not going to do as good as yours.  Running mostly on motorways at 50-55 MPH, it's averaged 28.7 over the last 5,500 miles.

However... MPG has gone up a wee bit since I got exchange carb off Dell Boy.  It's gone up even more again since moving from Winter to Summer setting (blocked or collapsed pipe???) so maybe a bit more work to do on the old bus  Grin

Worst tank has been 24.4, best has been 33.8.

winter/summer setting is the little leaver that diverts air to the airfilter box...

when set to winter it allows hot air to be drawn from the exhaust manifold..

in summer it draws fresh cool air

a little leaver is on the top of the splitter ...where the flexi tubes meet..

Hi ruth...its called the warm air flap valve...on a pick up its easily seen and reached..its just underneath the drivers side of the vehicle attached to the chassis (frame)...im assuming the bambi is the same but not sure...but if you follow the flexible metal tube from the steel cover on the exhaust manifold...it will lead you to it...and a small metal bar type leaver is all you move ...

NO IDEA what your little switch is..Huh?....could be ejector seat...TRY IT..!!!

The best I've had with the Romahome was about 33mpg.  Normally averages about 25ish.  Did once only do 20 mpg - but I did leave the choke out half an inch on a 100 mile run.... Embarrassed
