ok then.. been doing some more work on the strip and rebuild on my rascal.

I was checking all the vac pipes on the carb and found this on the side. Is part of the throttle assembly suppost to go into the forked bit or just lie under it like is now?

Also is this the standard internals of the dizzy or do i have something ...... different?

Also i found a nice crack on the NS just above the tie rod mount. The OS has been plated up before by the looks of it. Is it a common thing?

And . . . Whats the torque of the bottom pully? Ill have to air gun it off as its priddy tight!
AND.... what spec is the gearbox oil? im guessing the diff is 90's?

Thanks a lot!

Matt.

Some numpty appears to have connected the vacuum choke opener lever to the choke activator. The slotted arm should be floating free. Read up on it .Page 4.5 section 8 in the Haynes manual. Picture 9.3 gives a poor view of it.
You have standard electronic ignition fitted which is a megga bonus.
The crack is a fairly common m.o.t. failure. Plate it up.
Read your Haynes manual which will tell you the bottom pulley is only 55nm or 41 foot pounds of torque.
When the water pump leaks, water drips onto the bottom pulley & rusts the bolt in & the pulley to the crankshaft. Can be a right bugger to get the pulley off.
80 grade oil for gearbox in the Haynes manual. I use 75/90 or 85/90 in both.
