hi again lads.
iv picked up my rascal and i must say iv fell in love hahaha Shocked Grin
she absolutly in brillliant condition! no rust in any ovious plases.
drives sweet, its seemes its been fitted with a suzuki engine? or is this standard? its 5 speed.
could you help me with some things i should be checking? undernieth rust? what i should chack mecanicly?
things that wear easily? bearings?
any help would be brilliant!!
its my 1st car/van im 19yrs old and love the rascal!!!
i want it to be awsome for when i hit the road!! (not silly mods) perfecly standard condition these are the best.
i will post some pics also.

It is standard, apart for some cosmetic differences the rascal & supercarry are the same vehicle  Wink

It has a Suzuki engine because its a Suzuki van - a 5th Generation Suzuki Kei van in fact. The Bedford/Vauxhall is nothing more than a badge!  In the UK its called a Rascal - elsewhere its a Maruti Omni, Holden Scurry, Daewoo Damas, Changhe CH, Kaixuan NJD, Huayang BHQ, Ford Pronto and Chevrolet Super Carry!!!

Get yourself a Haynes manual and familiarise yourself with the maintainance schedule and get new oil and filters (you don't know how long the last ones have been there). Main structural rust problem area is the front wheelarches - if yours are okay then the rest of the vehicle probably is!

brilliant!! thankyou vey much. i will be getting a haynes manual.....
hmmm so there just a badge,, and it is actualy made by suzuki.... cool...
iam based in wakefield /barnsley in the midddle of both towns. south yorkshire.

Yup, both the bedord & the suzuki came off the same production line at luton, to get around import quotas from japan...... yep, just a badge Tongue
