Hi Animal, I am not sure on the lowering or bike carb route.

You should bear in mind that with the rear being leaf springs it is tricky, but I have seen the leaf springs inverted...i.e. turned upside down to get a lowering effect.

In terms of performance you could add a more free flowing exhaust and after-market air filter and air box, though how much of a difference it would make I could not say.

What size pipe is it on them... just so i can look up how much its going to set me back ...

i know i want a setup that has 2 side exhausts coming from just in front of the rear wheels

Does anyone know any sites for new shiny aftermarket parts for rascals or is it get something and make it fit

This. Or have it custom made.

I got a quote from two different after market exhaust places and they were quoting around £250 for a basic front -> back exhaust fully hand made and sounding how I would like it. Just bear in mind you will only likely gain a nicer sound as opposed to power, they are only 970cc remember.

At the end of the day its 970cc dragging a van around i think if you want more power a bigger engine is needed but then the handing would be very scary

as Richard Hammond proved... the cornering is quite scary

I think i may just leave it as it is but with an aftermarket filter and exhaust

In the long run its not going to bother me i dont think just thought it might be a bit of fun to give it a boost

When properly set up & running correctly they have good acceleration & a top end around 80 m.p.h. which is very dangerous in a Rascarry.
Modifications may void your insurance unless you tell your insurers they are fitted. Check before going ahead.

Just because someone drives like a t##t doesn't mean the vehicle is dangerous. Everyone here can prove theres nothing wrong with the cornering - we know more about Rascals than that knob.

(I get sick of the Hammond/Rascal/rollover story......)
