4" speakers

Over the next month or so i want to replace the speakers in the doors with some new 4" ones with a higher W than the stock ones in it.

Can anyone recommend any?

Brand wise i have always found that Focal speakers give a really nice rich sound with good bass.

i think with the noise of the road and engine an expensive sound system is a waste of time ...just go for mid range stuff.....vandrederic is the man for the task...his old van was just a giant subwoofer...hes van the man that can ...give him a pm..he dont get on that often...but hes good with audio

You will NOT be able to get any decent level of bass from speakers in the doors due to the way they are fabricated and in general the size of the speakers.

What you can fit is 10cm speakers in the lower forward areas of the door without major modification. However if you look at my project build you can use 13cm speakers higher up but will need to remove some excess door metal and be careful of the window glass clearance...also you may well need to create your own door card to take the extra weight.

In short:
10cm = Easy
13cm = Hard and not overly worth it unless your going for something LOUD


What I would advise as a fairly simple but nice set-up:

Front doors: 10cm speakers
Rear quarter panels: 13cm speakers
Rear of van: 12" active subwoofer


Have your headunit to supply the audio, a separate amplifier for the 13cm and 10cm speakers front and back...and the sub woofer has it's own amp.


Nothing over the top and would give you a good set-up... though if you want to go loud drop me a message for some interesting tips such as the fact that it is possible to have a system more powerful than the vans alternator can supply...but by that point it is pretty damn loud

This. Though you could buy a material called 'dynamat' sound deadening and cover every single panel in it and then cover with whatever you are using or plan to use as an interior. It can be used inside the doors too to stop some rattles.

I have just fitted some edge speakers as they where cheep in Halfords mounded them on some checker plate to give strength and then fixed them to the door
