Slight issue with my 1987 rascal.

Started it up the other morning and it was really smoky from the exhaust  with a thick bluey smoke and stinking of burning oil. But it cleared after i drove about 100 meters and wasn't smokey at all for the rest of the day. It did it again this morning, but not this evening.

It seems to be when its parked up hot and left over night to cool down then its bad in the morning. Its only started to do this after i serviced it last weekend.

The oil level is correct, the correct grade of oil was used. The only thing i can think of is oil coming through the breather pipe (which i unblocked when servicing it) but there is no oil in the air box.

I've checked for oil in the water and water in the oil and both are fine so not cylinder head gasket.

Because it not smokey on acceleration / deceleration / idle when hot, I'm not too worried about it being piston rings.

Any ideas why its doing this or what the problem is?

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Andy

Could well be valve stem seals, I did mine and far better,..but occasionally I get the odd burst of smoke..maybe I should have done the rings too.

Definetly valve stem seals plus possibly piston rings.
They smoke badly when oil level is at maximum when seals are worn.
Also the breather vent valve could be blocked.
